Rugs have an invaluable role in tying any room together. From pattern to texture, colour and shape, they set the tone for the living spaces, and for how comfortable you feel within.
When it came to choosing our downstairs living room rug, I knew I was on the lookout for two things:
Soft, traditional style
The rug needed to fit seamlessly in the room, between the antique timbers and fabrics. It needed to be muted from any bold, modern tones, and timelessly delicate in its design so it could transition seamlessly throughout the years.
Affordability
The last thing I wanted to do was spend thousands on a rug that would be stained, trampled, and played on. I was looking for the happy medium between not being too cheap that the print work appeared fake, and not so expensive that we were too scared to use it.

This Hamptons-inspired rug was just what our space needed. Both soft to walk on and rest your toes against, it fits perfectly centered our room. The design is traditional and timeless, and to top it all off, it was on sale!
