Is there anything lovelier than the careful crafting of a bow made of silky ribbon, against a wreath or garland? Bows are a favourite festive decor staple of mine, as they are not only one of the most affordable items you can decorate with, but they are practically charming in every way!
Spread Your Bows Throughout Your Home
This is the simplest way to create festive cohesion and elegance among all the rooms in your house. Although there is nothing wrong with mixing and matching different patterns of ribbon, you don't want to draw too much attention to them. They need to fit seamlessly within your space, so as to become a subtle passing delight that catches the eye.
This year, I used just one large roll of navy silk ribbon- that only cost a couple of dollars from a local fabric store- to adorn my tree, garland, hurricane lamps and wall plates with. This navy ribbon has added depth and dimension against the warmer Christmas hues in my house, and it glows in shifting waves against the glimmer of fairy lights.
So if it's affordable, traditional Christmas decor you are after, look no further than ribbons and bows! Even after the holiday season has passed, the sheen of your bows can still remain tied against your most precious vases and photo frames.
